Third Person is another good movie from Director/ Writer Paul Haggis, who is also responsible for the controversial mind puzzler "Crash".
Third Person also trail the same path as the movie is centered around 3 couples and the third person who in such close proximity make their union a contemplation, sin or disturbance, but the third person sometimes can be the snake if truly the couples will be together
Despite the less than stellar reviews of this movie, i see it from a different perspective, because for the first time, A director teased the mind of the viewers and let them with a hard on and salivation for denouement as the third is not seen still, what if, I ask The third person is you, watching the movie from the comfort of your room.
The third person in these 3 couples is a child as the movie plays on the thin fence of love and loss Acclaimed novelist struggles to write an analysis of love in one of three stories, each set in a different city, that detail the beginning, middle and end of a relationship. Instantaneous effect of Actions and Reactions and the Boomerang action of Karma in display as a jealous girlfriend action of seizing a note of rival phone number led to mother loosing custody of her son.
And the love she thought she had, turned out only to be an inspiration for a narcissistic writer who only used her as his muse. Love is the underlying factor in this movie as the love of a daughter can become something despicable, Love for one's work turns the person to a monster, and love for a child wrecks a mother, unconditional and stupid as it can get.
Accepting the woman without any questions. Being pushed and not letting go trying to hold on to that good in everybody.
Regardless of what most critics say. To me its was a beautiful movie. You mustn't always know the end of or get closure from every story. Just complete it in your lives and enjoy life with every scene and not for the resolution you are not sure of, you might just be the third person.
