The Amygdala is a lobe in the brain, shown in research to
perform a primary role in the processing of memory, decision-making, and emotional
reactions, the amygdala is what process the reaction we
have when we see that cousin that owes us money, or that aunt who feels she's
better than everyone in the family. and when it comes to music listen, the amygdala also wanes
the impact a music have, after first and second listen getting us familiar with the timing of the beat. and that is why
we consider a music old, overplayed or tiring after a consecutive number of
plays.
First
when you listen to the song and it’s impeccable and wonderful and the second
listen and you pay a little attention to the melody a third listen will see you
making attention to the lyrics and by a fourth time, the sting is gone.
Personally
I like writing my review when the sting of the music is still fresh because if
you wait for a longer period before writing a review it would reduce your
rating of a particular album, at that time your amygdala have already familiarized itself with certain sound patterns that
makes up the music making it predictable.
The first
and big problem of music listen is the human brain itself. This makes the whole music venture to look flawed and time wasting in itselfbecause of
the insatiable nature of man who definitely want want to test all there is.
My
biggest regret would be to not have listened to a very good album; but the ones
we do listen are we quick to rate as much of a gut level it hits us, And how
that wanes over time and when it does we search for the next thing or clamor for and beg our favourites to release a new project.
For
example Here’s
why I would never enjoy Lorde’s Royals. I had a friend who heard it on a radio
and asked me to download with a singsong description; I sat and watch him smile
as I gave him my earpiece to listen. He unplugged it and started the
decimation and mutilation of this song, and it was Saturday and he started his
chores with the song on repeat he locked the song into his subconscious as the We will never be royals kept coming out
of his mouth like a damaged robot at around 3pm at the almost 20th listen, I had hated the song, and so had he.
The only
way to make music listen ever interesting would be to have an album that
changes sound at every new listen which is so impossible, And considering the amount of time it takes to
make an album, No artist would want to sound bland over time.
But that
is something they themselves must already feel before releasing the album.
Imagine regurgitating the same 16 bars before getting it right. it can make an artist feel down about creating a project, but like every good flower the bloom dies so does the music for the sun being lets just enjoy it while it last.
