Gallant - Ology; Every Poem Can Be Sung

Gallant, born Christopher Gallant is a singer, songwriter from Washington DC who studied music in New York School of Individualized Study, Ology is his first Studio album, and have received critical acclaim especial Weight in Gold one of the singles from the album, When I first heard the album my first word were Moses Sumney!! when comparing after listening to a lot of Black Soul musicians are beginning to sound that way, with a lean to psychedelic and instrumental James and Sampha kind of stuff, so ology find that same flow and feel, the lyrics of his sound are so interesting and his choice of word and diction show a person well grounded in poetry, but you can only find out this with the use of the lyrics player because of the way he sound most of them might hide under the lush sound of his voice, which send the lyric straight to home,
The production were a little too much in my part, when it comes to the use of electric guitar but it seems a little cool for it, but every artist have a particular kind of instrumental they are comfortable with, and this is his,
Shotgun is nice song with the vocable background and nice song, what good is song next to a shotgun
But I felt a little bass guitar you know that The Hics feel would have made this album a profoundly mesmerizing but still a good listen this is my first time of listening to him,
Overall nice use of vocables and sounds
Talking to myself starts the album vocally after the instrumental beginning vetting the loneliness that plays the violin behind every artist’s head, following him and giving him the lyrics that we now hear today. The album carries the same feel throughout, cool and enjoyable listen the lyrics are the main win for this album as they show the poetic prowess of Gallant and why this really will just be tip of the iceberg, Still it remains a good album but a little bland on production and over the top strain of vocal cords makes the album feel like I have heard it before, (because of the over-saturation of similar artistes, albums and album content) not just because of the similarities of the beats but to really do justice to the hidden works of this album you need to listen to it with musixmatch and enjoy the beauty of the lyrics and the album too.
