The Bush Doctor; Peter Tosh's Discography

Born in Grange Hill Jamaica He taught himself how to play the guitar, He, Bob and bunny formed the musical group The Wailers, he was a advocate for freedom and equal rights, he was shpt twice in the head by Lobbo, but you will never know that when you listen to him, and I never did when my father bought his Mama Afrika album and played the eponymous song in our CD player in the shop, something in the voice of this man made me take out the CD days later and put in my aunt’s Walkman and play the song glasshouse with triumphant exuberance and joy learning a great lesson without missing a nod. that album generally and the song really struck a chord with me especially hen he said

Harm no man and let n man harm you
Do unto others like you want them to do to you

Did it change the way i played football and tackled when we played on the street, Did it increase my sense of camaraderie and gave me some maturity at a very little age, who could say I was just 13 years old but It seems like he was forming my morals without my knowing it, morals that would set me down the path of questions, about life insouciance and the greed infested world, but I listened to other songs, I danced with the best and trucked on like everybody else.
Exactly 10 years later and I downloaded his discography in search of the same questions i have always heard and to my awe all his lessons had come full circle like the CD in my aunt's Walkman and kept on remaining relevant and spinning like the CD for a planet doing the same.
The Lesson : How to Live Life according to the Black skin.

There is a limitation that comes with colonization it is a feeling of having your mind made up for you no matter how you try, your accent, and feeling of a mash up of culture puts you a strange peg in clear cut hole of the society The doubt, abnegation and rejection that comes from being institutionalized and the strange allure of the suffering, a ghetto cesspool of draw back crabs that mock your goals into your shell, and how they make sure you do not fare above them with laughter, rejection, alienation and the brash arrogance to deny and ignore whatever you feel know..
And kick you and your stupid dreams in the teeth, who are you to think you know better than this way of suffering, who are you to be “irresponsible” and not want to engage yourself in the way of life, passed down, it works! there should be no other way.
I have had to watch many of my dreams die, one of them is the dream of playing football even on the street, but good music like Peter’s console us that those dream can never die as we live our dreams in the man that we are, I now understand why Father felt proud himself ever when I murmured that he could do better. I really wouldn't want to do better than this, and I am okay with the fact that my child might still feel I did not do enough. But all I can say is that I now understand, because I am not in this life to live life according to how you feel, as long as I feel content because Peter gives me strength he makes me content. and for that I am the toughest.
With simple words he explained the road He and I am currently plying, with rejection, limitations and blackness, how to live well, singing on negated issues like how to deal with rejection, nutrition, equal rights, fighting for one's right, a sense of justice and most of all contentment.
He gives one the ability to develop a sense of pride as a black man and imbibe in us certain value that we should share eternal music to teach our children, that we are what we are we are, we are, we are. And learn to live life by no man’s standards
I am saying "gives" because this is not a man that has died, but one that continue to live in my mind and hopefully in the mind of our young ones and teach them like He teaches me.
