Catharsis And Another Listen

Music is the story of another through sounds, some of these stories we understand and can relate to,  as they are relative, funny and interesting while some are sad. However some  of them elude us or are beyond us, And maybe something about the tempo, lyrics, laid back nature make it feel unfit to our listen at that time, IT however doesn't diminish the wonder of such album as the album will not change, Just you. it will therefore take for us a form of catharsis or new information to understand the music. This is a call for those albums that you have ignored, forgotten or felt that they were too drab to listen, asking or begging to you listen to them again and see how it fit now.
For example, For a someone who is a big fan of Ab-Soul his Do What Thou Wilt album didn't meet and will never meet reach the acclaim and love i have for Control System but since the artist is not static and evolves his evolution will be reflected in his music and It is only after i started reading Isaac Regardie, Christopher Hyatt and Aliester Crowley that i understand the whole theme of the album and why it couldn't be more melodious or catchy because the message in required a understanding  of Book of Soul and why it is important for him to sinig Lonely Soul and Love is the only law as a kind of Soul Remedy for his losing Alori Joh, so now he is saying Do What Thou Wilt for love is the only law
This is a call for us to give those album a second listen, those albums we feel are too slow or bland for us at the moment, most especially in this blog where albums are curated monthly.
In my university days, I had listen to Mac Demarco Salad Days, and just hated it, I felt it was boring and too personal for me to vibe with, also sharing in that similar feeling of misunderstanding was the iconic Sharon van Etten Are We There Yet, but as i age, i only listen to Mac Demarco and Demarco type albums obviated by the album collection for March '20 which had 3 albums off Mac's Discography including the once hated Salad Days whose Chamber of Reflection is aptly eponymous helping me through a very difficult period presently,
Most times the music of a particular artist can feel above us, and that is because we haven’t gotten to that precipice that a song or album can vibe so when we undergo a catharsis maybe we should give these album another listen maybe they might now resonate, vibe with and finally be of true immense value to us.
