Molding Men From Anime Characters

Sogeking, Burn that flag - Luffy

What makes for the resiliency of our minds if not those who push for us the limit of human capability, steadfast on their path through varied, devils, obstacles and upheavals. it’s Gandhi with just his glasses and vedas against the almighty British empire, It’s Che spluttering with asthma with a rifle and an ideology in the Jungle, Or is it Luffy bare footed in Impel down with a delirious cling unto a singular name. Where then do we say the limit exist when we look for characters to mold our man by. if we can not only find strength in real life, fiction but also in a wonder as simple as animation .

Animation strengthen us, even when we know their outlay allow them to push the limit of reality, Still we ask the reason for such extremities and find simple answers like: love, family, friendship and freedom. We look for the semblance in our daily lives and find ourselves wanting because we discounted the fibre of our being seeking blamelessness, solipsistic justifications and sheer avarice. These character then don’t just end up as animation for us they come alive in our dreams, give us strength and encouragement in our own moment of adversity. Crying in the rain, understanding feelings and intentions, long cigarette drags in patience at our being misunderstood, gratitude, forgiveness and a helping hands are norms anime imbue easily.

They come alive in our minds and eventually mold or create models for the very diverse yet straight and simple man that form us. The anime motto; of brotherhood, love and spirit becomes encapsulated per anime as morals for the growing child that would churn out the ‘gambaren’ man in a world filled with so many obstacles.
And they come alive in our hearts, It is Erwin shouting “susume” despite being pulled back and losing an arm to a titan, It is Shanks putting his hat on Luffy and converting a soul to piracy while casually discounting an arm. It is White beard asking Sengoku if nothing has happened to his boy, assuring Ace that the very tattoo on his back is his vet for him to go as he please, and subsequently hugging Sqward after being stabbed by him. It is the 13 years old Itachi joining ANBU and made to suffer silently and playing double agent while ensuring the safety of the village at the expense of his own freedom. It is intellectual and astute shrewdness of Yagami Light in Death note, The depth and resolve in the eyes of Ogata Hyakunosuke of Golden Kamuy. We love and learn a lot from animes, we could go on to say we form and develop our own personas for we can only describe as the certain types and characters in anime that form or further buttress our own personality.

The Playful Generals: is the easy going and playful leader, who loves his family and quite easy to get along and play with but within him lives the devil himself. when he is with family, he is like a child, but you touch any member of his family, clan or crew and he turns demonic. Only his crew and family can insult or smack him across the head, but they still respect him because they know when push comes to shove he can and will be a demon for them. Of course Luffy is example number one followed by his mentor Shanks, Gojo Sato, Daddy the Father, Koito, White Beard, Might Guy, Bon Clay, Jiraiya, Gin-san, Kondo, Saitama e.t.c

The Silent Sufferer: These are men whose love transcend the limit of human understanding, they see beyond the scope of pettiness that they do what is necessary and carry the burden of their decision. Some of them suffer and still find time to smile, and continue if they are misunderstood and mocked. I’m talking heavy burden and guilt without complaining, flinching or a second thought almost like It’s nothing, and not revealing any thing till their moment of death. You wouldn’t talk far about this type without instantly thinking of Rosinate Doflamingo, Uchiha Itachi, Nagato of Amegakure,Bartholomew Kuma, Gengai in Gintama, Aokijik & Robin,. The shounen anime world really is filled with a lot of silent sufferers from Berserk to Trigun, many of them still hurt, and smiling still in our hearts.

Astute Demons : Guys who cut through bullshit like a hot knife with no need for unnecessary sentiments like Orochimaru, Levi Ackerman, Takanome Mihawk, Sasuke, Okita Sougo. These guys are know for their analytical ability, the power of foresight and ability to gauge strengths and see weaknesses. We take classes from their inner detective when we see the ability of Yagami Light and L, or Ayanokoji Kiyotaka. These guys don’t mess around they are little laid back but attack their problems with surgical precision and don’t waste unnecessary energy either.

Psychopaths: No one would think psychopaths a la anime world without mentioning Hisoka in Hunter X Hunter, I forget his name now but the man who turned his daughter to Chimera also, Along that line is Deidara, and Hoshigaki Kisame of the Akatsuki, Katsura of Gintama, or Betelgeuse Romani Contil, L, Buggy of One piece, Tsukichiro, Erdogai or Isami of Golden Kamuy. Or the Devil may cry fathers who wouldn’t dare put their family before their goals like Yassop, Gin of Hunter X Hunter or Monkey the Dragon,

Idealist/Enthusiast/ Straight and Funny men: litter the anime world since their motto is the gambaren, some embody it thought completely like Naruto and Might Guy, brimming with enthusiasm, a clenched fist and bright eyes.
The straight men and funny guys like Chinpachi and Baka Oji of Ginatama provide some humor and characterize the don’t life so seriously type which cannot be overestimated, Madao of Ginatama offered a very nice perspective on why the wish for the continuity was moronic since his life is an endless summer, he wouldn’t wish it on anyone. It is possible, o yeah maybe we need to take a chill pill, What the Hell!? (Dondakeeee!!!) are some mask that we too can put on when the occasion calls, works.

Loyal/ Grateful Swords & SIlent Stars: Zoro top the list of the type of greatful swords, his “Nanimonai” at the absorption of Luffy’s pain is still a thing of beauty, but so also is Jimbei, Mikasa, Kiriyama Rei among others who know how to pay a debt of gratitude. It is Ginatma to Otose, Mikasa to Eren, Bonclay to Luffy (mugiwara gambaren (goosebumps)) and Oarz to Ace. The Silent star are anime characters are hidden men who do major works in the shadows, they have no need for fame nor gloating, they work like ants carry and do their work: like Tetsuya in Kuroko no Basket, Sai and Shuisu in Naruto, Smile in Pingpong, These characters help keep our behaviour beyond the condition and our every little actions spirited.
From Men who don’t joke with their crew and families, who risk death in pursuit of their own freedom, we can only say thank you for the Mangakas who create characters that inspire us everyday. When we talk freedom, something just comes alive inside of you when Luffy reply that The freeest man in this ocean is the man who is King.

These characters help in one way or the other in the building of our own, we might specify and give correlation in explanation to those like us; good and long conversation, We can take a little bit of all of them all in the resolve needed to be exactly that a the moment demand. Eithewaysi know that certain cosmic laws guard this universe and l apply and ply them accordingly, armed with nature. I might throw my head back when I walk, cause I know the sequence and how the world works, a lot of character types I can learn from I can take on the world like they did in the pursuit of my freedom. So according to character types in anime I can boast that I am a playful general who can be an astute demon, though I suffer silently don’t do it for long.

All in all these characters9one way or the other build our own characters as they teach the range of the humanity and the strength in unlimiting of our emotions, we too can stretch our limit and truly find our own.
