The Classicals have certain album/symphonies they refer to as the paragons. These are referred to as the pillars in their genre, The works of Chopin, Mozart and Stravinsky are considered unparalleled and the standard in their world of music.
There firstly is the consensus, an agreement among fellow Classical musicians and writers to give appreciation and accreditation to these albums, they are totemized, canonized even and kept in a hall of Fame and mental frame of mind for any classical music enthusiast as the model to look up to.
Hip-hop and Rap albums don't have such equivalent, the concesus seem impossible with the coastal wars, considering it's violent history, gang wars and 'rap' killings. It might seem hard for rappers to look beyond the sentiments. But time says and we must move on, as the new guys don't have album they look to for and as standard .
Every one drags every body and gems are rubbished, sampled and piled up on. We need to rearrange collectively come down to the basement of this genre and rearrange it's crates. Picking out albums that we can collectively raise up as bronze snakes, work of genius to give the genre a standard for others to come, but also to encloak Rap art symbol asa a genre to be studied and appreciated extensively.
Unarguable among the Classicals are Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Beethoven's 9th, Mahler's 5th, Stravinsky's Rite of Spring among others Rap needs it's equivalent, we need the consensus a call of the greats Nas, Rakim, JayZ, Andre 3k, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick, J Cole, Kanye, Eminem, all of them, East, West, North and South.
And we need to standardize this genre, they need to be the jury and give this genre the crown of it's decades of hard work. Standardize Rap and give certain albums their most needed regard and stamp, seperating them from every other, then now and to come considering the production, hindrances, effort, lyricism and hardwork, accrediting them as certified works of art.
Notorious BIG, Life after Death
Nas - Illmatic
Nas- It was Written
Jay Z- The Blueprint
Snoop Dogg- Doggystyle
Eminem - Encore
OutKast- Aquemini
GZA - Liquid Swords
De la Soul - And the Anonymous Nobody
Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
J Cole - 2014 Forest Hill Drive

I think a 500 album listing should be carefully studied and kept in a new created Rap/Hip Hop Hall of Fame. These albums should never be called into question as they have undergone the scrutiny of a jury of greats. A standard set, to give those to come something to model after and a paragon of pride as a genre with it's own certified classics.
If Rap/Hip-hop becomes standardized with an Academy studying and analysing other underground album and a yearly Credence and. Award is given to these albums, The entire genre wouldn't be so much of a pile that one must shuffle through but an arranged listen from Classics, greats, goods and then others. An album that have stood the test of time must get it's credit and saluted as pillars of the genre, Respect to both album and artiste, A standard and a structure like every other genre.
