Local Television Nigeria

These is a barber I pass by on my walk home, Naturally I look through his Glassdoor to catch a glimpse of what he's watching on television. Many a times the screen is green similar colors  litter here and there, it's football and I'm myopic. But lately it's been a dark screen with a gold rimmed dialog box, he can't afford subscription and forgotten that we have local stations.
I think of how bored he must be, strung up to keep up with the norm, interested in watching football, without any recourse elsewhere because our local television have failed us.

A small Sharp television served us and the local MHZ for all eleven stations were listed somewhere on a jotter at one time, so When you press function and hold the volume up key till you see pixels lather, and then it's time to turn the antenna mostly about face, Silverbird was every child favourite; Silver hawk, biker mice Project Zeta, The KKb show and Taxi Driver from Ghana, They gave Ghanian content, Sound city and a lot of South Africa music
Channel shows cartoons from 3:30 pm just after news track and Galaxy television showed Yoruba movies from 8-10am, Mitv followed suit 10-12 and Ontv played music, showed movies. DBN focused on sports but what happened to DBN. We knew what and when Spider, Dominos Tinsel at night  When You are Mine, The Gardener Daughter and a Priest confessed during novena saying please hurry with the offering I have to watch Gardeners daughter
It was true, he was bonhomie, it was important our local television was ours, until it was destroyed by the inferiority complex of colonization that could make Dstv increase with impunity the subscription over and over again, assured of the helplessness of Nigerians, with Nigeria almost imploringly so that they can watch the football club of their colonial masters.

I watch and support Liverpool but when a local television is imploring on its radio about viewers not seeing it's Channel on Dstv, it shows how far we have fallen.
Admittedly, Daar Sat failed, Dokpesi is dead and so is Ladi Lawal, But what happened to our local television stations, when it did become insufficient to saving and just buying a television and an antenna.
No 1 was AIT naturally, it the clearest station I live a close to them at MHZ 470 it gave us Champions League match on Tuesday and Wednesday with their own pundits, Why did they stop caring.
I used to remind our neighbor opposite that there would be a football match that night 'gote fuel 3 litres, oyil 20 naira, he gave me 220, 20 for my suffering, Fuel was 60 naira per litre, Bale almost destroyed Inter Milan with Macon and Thiago Motta, Anelka missed his penalty and rice was 4 thousand naira per bag.

What happened to local television why did they stop caring ? We had DVDs but our local television had their place of importance they showed nation's cup world cup why did they stop caring
When did they all go politics and glorified mediocrity At midnight they showed wonderful movies and we lost all that because of a dish and status quo, Nobody cared to fight for our local television.
No one remembered Goge Africa, Etv and that South African series on MiTv and no one fought for the football watching right of the ordinary Nigerian, what do you when Your local telecaster don't watch local television.

What will it take to create a local television app that uses radio frequency instead of data on our Android phones
I remember watching Germany beat Brazil 7-1 on My mom's Chinese phone with n inbuilt television, and It was a Java phone.
Now with android which is a better, You can't help but feel, the hindrances is deliberate. Certain people are feeding fat off ours inferiority complex and subscription

J. D. Gomwok was a saint championed the development of television in Plateau State, the wonderful Ladi lawal was instrumental in creating Champions league on a independent television, DBn had sport but Kwese bought them and I hated it.
With the price of subscription we have to revive our local television
Our children don't know our local content like Goge Africa, Super story, Papa Ajasco.
This is our thing we can't just let them die, they carry our own morals and didacticism
This is why I like the Japanese their movies are mostly corny but they brave it and keep improving on their local content till it became international, now people spend data just to download Japanese television programs on Rutracker.
Nigerian doesn't even have a film archive what a shame we don't have a criterion collection of Movies by Hubert ogunde thunderbolt or a local television that focused on those or our own sport station,
Please protect our local television, protect the ordinary Nigerian right to view good content
