Taxidermied Spliff; Donald Byrd -Ethiopian Knights

There is something just so unique about this Donald Byrd, even when I am used to the liking too much of righteous funk style of the likes of Byrd and Linston Smith but here it's a might be measured cosmic eccletism, Bang out, trap out  and wraps us nicely. A spliff so good it is left unfinished, stuffed for safe keeping and the sure to be at awe future, The Emperor, Jaime and the Little Rasti is the culmination of instant and unending.
The wind parade he sang about really epitomizes in this nice album, If life being a wind parade, the actual sound happens in The Emperor, When the Jamie hits  as the interlude and cosmic comma, one stop and looks at the album art as you do a good spliff, this is the bomb, Suuuuuu
And I can't seem to get my ears off it's listen my mind look at that green album art like a spliff and I know in there lies goodness and for the ages as Donald Byrd's Mastery really shines here.
It's made me happy knowing an album like this one exist like a spliff from the 70s rolled up and kept in the attic, Look at and instantly be reminded, press play and easily be transported, (gasping) Here!!! (coughs)
