Kumarajiva is best known as the Translator monk, Among hos tireless work is the translation of the Lotus Sutra, He was known for his vast knowledge of Indian and Vedantic Literature, I really extol him for his long trek from Indian to China to disseminate Buddhist teachings.
It reads differently when people think of Buddhism they immediately think of China and Japan, but Buddhism originated in India and the whole of China, Korea and Japan have Kumarajiva to thank for bringing Buddhism to them.
With no knowledge of the terrain and the people, just a whole lot of faith and inner direction, that made that journey possible
He carried the pregnancy across country, across
time and across destiny to birth Buddhism in China. He was a great vehicle of the lotus sutra and he is surely one of, if not the Greatest Bodhisattva to have ever lived.

And I think of him a lot, in terms of what it will take to birth Buddhism in Nigeria and even Africa, Who could carry that pregnancy that would birth Buddhism for the black race, what fortitude would be his wrought.
It is not an easy task at all, holding on to a scroll, braving winds, lonely paths, tired drinks from unknown rivers, heaving sighs and looking up to the sky and smiling with the singular thought in mind, I am bringing enlightenment to living beings.
It is not easy at all..
