Why is Kriya Yoga special?

Currently reading the Autobiography of a Yogi by Yogananda, and he keeps mentioning Kriya Yoga, he just wouldn't stop talking about it. dang it(In Napoleon Dynamite voice) and yes it made want to find out more about it.
Yoga isn't new to me but why Kriya Yoga. I have known, used a yoga for a long time to deal with stress, deepen the sleep, pump blood to where they are needed, stretch the muscle and exercise the nerves.
Yogis and Yoginis are known to live healthier live stronger and  longer.

I see why this book was thr book that changed and awakened Steve Jobs, it is immense, it's very powerful, I could see glimpses of his life as I read, how detailed and well written it is, I see the train stations, his boyish mirth and I wonder if we could actually live a free life of purity and prayer.
But Why Kriya Yoga, He must have said those two words like a thousand time throughout the books extolling it's spiritual benefits for man, ignoring the obvious physical. They break it down it to a science, The science of man's upliftment, and I suspect might be detailed in Sri Yukteswar 'Holy Science'.
The breaking of the universe into atom and utilizing that power to control, harness and even transport one self and other atoms, Is it a little too much? Well, they don't think so.  Fascinatingly the wide use of Bible quotations especially the New Testaments in the explanations in this book is quite interesting as they are convinced that Jesus was a yogi who practiced Kriya Yoga too.

Here are the lineage of Yoga Master also recorded in his book starting with Babaji the deathless guru, Lahiri Mahasayat to Swami Yukteswar and Yogananda himself.

Here's a video on Kriya Yoga, let's find out together.
