Popularly known as Brownie, the entire Jazz world still reminisces and can now only imagine what this strict business like and talented trumpeter would have been, had his life not be cut short tragically at just 25 years .

He was ruthless on the trumpeter, played it to studious perfection, and he lived long he would have towered over so many others in Jazz, giving that his few works remains quite unique, and iconic till date.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, he wasn’t a victim of the stereotypical “jazz life” – Brownie famously avoided drugs and alcohol, A devotion that earned him the respect and regard among the greats like Dizzy and Bud Powell at a very early age, He was tipped to become a true star, if not the greatest ever. 

His, was a loss monumental and still shocking to the world of Jazz that it is still reeling from it.
