Why?, if not colonization and indoctrination could be blamed for the way we live, trying to be American by force we think that size makes the man and have plundered our resources to sate that imported complex.
While we have discussed our clothing and how ironically it is infact cheaper to wear our own cloth that helps grow the local industry
Well let me tell you about the irony of food in this country, and how in a land of plenty people are still hungry, made so by the ignorance of choosing a western diet.
On my way to the library I see the many longing for rice and it's cohorts of empty carbs, I wonder who has cursed us so, must we only eat rice and bread (rice and flour imports). Are we

so colonized so indoctrinated that we are made to disparage our own food that actually do fill our bellies with imported sickness called wheatflour from abroad
when we have and can have our own wellness over here who has placed this cancer of bread and rice on us. To eat a rice diet or bread and soft drink you will spend at least 1,500 naira.
Shaking my head I'm walking rather slowly, thinking, thinking of the combination I am going to give the waiter at my favourite restaurant should I mix this soup with this one should or should I try this? my budget? 600 naira.

The Stock
Think about it, think of the amount of ingredients it takes to make that soup, the amount of fish, meat, stock, tomatoes and seasoning, that go into making that very stew the night before, All the labour, the time it took to get them to make that nutritious broth, Now compare it to Bread, Noodles, Sausage Roll, Soft drinks
The Price..
I am going to spend 600 naira with which I will buy White Amala (3 pieces) and pick egusi/efo soup with that rich broth.
For 600 naira I get to sit down comfortably, for 600 naira I get to enjoy fan, for 600 naira I get to watch a Nollywood movie for at least 30 minutes acting surprised in between swallows
The ease of eating with my hand enjoying every moment, I get to wash my hand, loosen my sokoto, collect serviette paper, toothpick, drink free sachet water, and charge my phone a little on my 600 naira.
I swear I see people rushing to nowhere buying food inside nylons and wolfing it down like animals. and wonder Why must we eat like slaves, How is this a life
Now compare it to Bread, Noodles, Soft drinks
The Taste/ Nutrient
The heart of the white amala laced with a copious bleed of the egusi platelets on tomatoes blood made me five years younger immediately and the sweat broke immediately, my brain muttering thank you, I love you. I told it wo, lo fan kan e bale in the thickest Balablue.
The classes of food were completedz graduated and served even in one swallow.
My total budget 600 naira. my swagger (syntax errors)
And that's the irony of the country we live in, In the middle the river with soapy eyes, in the midst of plenty and hungry, with so much beauty and they can't see it. How then do we break out of this slave mentality in our own fatherland. We need to teach ourselves to learn how to eat food and not junks, not snacks, not quickie, but real food.
If you buy bread and soft drinks, garri and groundnut, noodles and egg and they are still above 600 naira in spending. You will still not be satisfied
After finishing my days chore, I'm walking past by looking them, bending my sunglasses slightly, I ask, shey iyan mi ti ready ,(is my pounded yam ready)

We have constipated ourselves, damages our health eating the wrong food
trying to be American
if you eat like this you will never fall sick and become tired or nausea after eating watch your fill enjoy your life and the good things are sometimes cheap easy and free, if you only take time to value the things God have given you.
Take pride in the cooking and eating our African food.
You will need to open your eyes to see them, but I don't think we need an open eyes to see or fill our mouth and bellies, We Just need to drop those chains of colonization called bags of flours and switch to a wellness in good eating.
(Apologies I don't eat meat, I know they enrich the experience even better)
