With logistics sure to be off the roof, We probably don't have a chance of Femi, Seun and Made Kuti touring Nigeria, or even playing in Universities. Frankly they owe us that much, lovers of Abami Eda's music to tour the country with their song and some of Fela classics.
I mean one last get together of a new revamp of the old African 70 band something like Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue.
Fela never got to tour Nigeria talk more of Africa, the politics and revolution hindered and hampered.
But Femi should think towards ending his legacy with a tour of major cities like Calabar, P.H, Enugu, Lagos and Abuja, he is in 60s, he better do it now before age becomes too much of a factor.
For now though and less costly is the idea of an African Jazz Album, They have a chance at creating and cementing Afro beat morphed into Afro Jazz by infusing the Brazilian effects of drums, conga, tambourine and layered style of Fela and the Antibalas.
The Kuti need to make an African Jazz Album!!
The Antibalas need to make an African Jazz album!
Ambrose Akinmisure need to make an African Jazz Album and they all ought to tour Africa even if once, it's not about the money, they owe to us.
conga, drumming, Akinmusure playing,Femi, Baba Ani, Ewo (the old boys) Fela sampling, Rendition and long takes of Beast of No Nation, Confusion, Water No Get Enemy.
Let's really start thinking about leaving something behind.
