The world revolves around money, and you will find out why.
First thing i went to google for was: Who voice acted Otsuki Tarou, and found out it was Chō



And went thats it, thats the man with the perfect voice for a villain, He brought the character to life, especially that part when after smoking he went Kaiji Kun, Oya wa nikai 


But to tell you the truth, two decades later, it was superb voice acting and an incredible plot, well written anime.
Kaiji explains man explaijs money and the reason the bridge adjoining those. two parallels
would never be finished.

Money is hard to make even when you gamble with the devil, simply put, you cannot do without money in kaiji it involves losing one's limb scaling the height of buildings on a plaint and all legalized by your desire and desperation

Seeking fpir money for rebiirth, in God's world that have a  preference for evolution rather than transcendence

Theres the Gap, the debt and the  struggle just to be, even a  monk has to eat.

In this life, you need incredible luck, talent or you will have to work for a long period to earn money.

Kaiji choses luck, but really he chooses daring.

A wonderful anime, teaches a lot about society, yeah, put it in your list and try and see it.
