Noname - Telefone | Review

Noname formerly known as Noname Gypsy, is a Chicago rapper making wave with the new set of talent coming from that region. A very good Poet, Poetry have always been her foundation with her real name Fatima Warner with her spoken words lit up the album. She has the kind of voice that emits innocence and gives reminder to a very familiar voice the one without a name.
like the  voice of a pretty damsel who is damaged but tries to find meaning in the most ignored things and enlighten us with her lyrics and the totemic messages embedded in them.
Her metaphors and assonance, allegories, euphemism goes to shows her indepth knowledge for poetry.
According to her
"I like to read poetry. I just read this really great book of poetry, I got it from Harold Washington Library. I like to read (laughs). When I can do that, I get my inspiration from reading."
First Noticed her in "Warm Enough" by Donnie's Surf album and with few track features with Chance, Jesse Boykins she was well on her way to show the world her type of cool.

The ability of an artist to give you a jingle to remember in an album is the only comeback ticket you need to give the album a second and a third listen. that uniqueness make them special and beautiful. Same can be said of Noname magical voice, outstanding lyrics, wonderful choruses which makes The Album Telefone a good one. .
Wait for it..
But, the downside is that no matter how talented you get as an artist you can't remove the singsong side off music, and a downbeat tempo of an album could affect your listener into tagging the album for a particular mood,  which cannot really be a good thing. You could be a spoken poet. But would create in the mind of your listener that's this more like spoken poetry. The album is cool and talks about a lot, but I would want her to sing once in a while in subsequent album because poetry and rthymic flows are cool but too much could bore you.

Cool for a first. Big fan.
