Seydou Keita; Capturing Pictures of Familiars and Past Lives

Seydou Keïta was a Malian photographer. He is mostly known for his portraits of people and families he took between 1940 and the early 1960s and that are widely acknowledged not only as a record of Malian society but also as pieces of art according to Wikipeadia. Even though he died in 2001, his photographs give life and meaning to our lives today making him alive in our mind through his works. Most of his photographs remind us of a time we must have forgotten as the quality of his images make you reminisce about a past life you think you had, as the images warm your heart making you ask yourself how did they live at that time when life was simple and pastoral.
