Black Diamond: The Story of The Negro Baseball Leagues

The poverty that followed the depression and the bitter racism of thr Jim Crow era, and pressure for blacks to Churn out these Black Diamonds.
Reading about players like Cool Papa, Satchel Paige, Hidigo, Gibson who they were and what they stood up from
picked up this bundle of inspiration amnd read about the insistence of Rube foster to create something for the race
Have me begging question about our politicians who don't understand the importance of sport as uplifting people out of poverty.

It's been a long walk of self determination for the black man, denied greatness, hall of Fame and sheer playing because the color of their skin, if only he were White, Could he have picked his birth, some had to disguise being Native Americans and Cubans just to play.

Being on the road, long rides, clowning for money, barnstorming and eating on the bus, enduring insults and maltreatment from fans.

We salute their relentless, they remain heroes of the very air we now breathe, freedoms we now enjoy.

This point to the black industriousness, We can do it if we set our minds to it, We need to  create leagues like this again and  in all sports to create employment and purpose in black communities again.
